The Department of Architecture was established in 1986. It was the first institute in Punjab to start the five years integrated B.Arch. Degree course. Department of Architecture is the oldest & premier institute in the region. Over the years, the department has evolved into a leading institution in the region by virtue of having excellent human resources as well as technical infrastructure.

Eligibility :
- 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized Board with Mathematics as a subject of studies by securing 50% marks in aggtregate. OR
10+3 Diploma (any stream) recognized by Central/State Governments with 50% marks in aggregate. OR
Internal Baccalaureate Diploma after 10 years of Schooling with not less than 50% marks in aggregate and with Matehmatics as compulsory subject of examination.
- Admission to B.Arch degree course shall be subject to passing of National Aptitute Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture.

Admission shall be based on the valid NATA score and marks secured in qualifying examination in the ratio of 50:50.
Infrastructure Facilities :
The department is equipped with state of the art laboratories such as updated Computer labs - latest CADD software, Arts and Graphics Lab, Surveying lab, Building Material Testing Lab, Material Museum and Library. Independent departmental building measuring 3000 sq. meter area along with common facilities like Auditorium, Seminar halls, guest house and world class sports infrastructure at university level.
Thurst Areas :
The department has also leapfrogged in the areas of research and consultancy in last few years by securing research projects and providing architectural consultancy to State Govt. and institutions for various projects. The mission of the department is to develop a holistic vision of the students towards various issues of physical environment by evolving an integrated design approach incorporating understanding of different disciplines that come together in conceptualization of a creative idea. From time to time, the syllabi and scheme of B.Arch. course is exhaustively reviewed and revised in the light of national / international architectural needs.
