Department of Commerce and Business Management

The Department of Commerce and Business Management (CBM) was initially a constituent unit of the Punjab School of Economics, but in 1984 it started functioning as an independent department. The department offers MBA in Human Resource Management, Marketing Management, Financial Management. The All India Council for Technical Education has recognized Department of Commerce and Business Management as a provider of quality education in management. Each member of the department bears a continuous responsibility to articulate, reinforce and reflect those values that support our highest aspiration. With innovation becoming the key element of the 21st century, Department of Commerce and Business Management has envisioned to become a knowledge creating and applying institution. It aims at developing globally integrated and future oriented managers, capable of functioning in ever changing turbulent environment and pluralistic cross-cultural dimensions.

Regional Campus Gurdaspur
Guru Nanak Dev University, Regional Campus Gurdaspur is located on Hardochhani road, 3 km away from the heart of the city located in the lap of pristine nature, the campus lush with green surroundings, pollution free and serene environment which is ideally suited for academic activity. View of snow clad mountains and open fields surrounding with eucalyptus plantation add beauty to the natural glory of the campus. SELECTION PROCEDURE

The selection procedure of students of the MBA and MBA (HRM) course of by competitive selection procedure comprising of three stages:

* All India Written Examination
Each year students for MBA & MBA (HRM) are selected through rigorous competitive admission process comprising three phases. The first phase consist of All India Written Examination conducted by Guru Nanak Dev University for the admission to MBA Programme.
* Group Discussion
In second phase the short listed candidates are subsequently screened through Group Discussion
* Personal Interview
In the third phase Personal Interviews are conducted to select a pool of the most talented students for MBA Programme at Guru Nanak Dev University.

PLACEMENTS

The students are offered jobs by national and multinational companies like Trident, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Vardhman, Satyam, ICICI Prudential etc. at good pay packages.
